Disney fans like to have a bit of Disney at home. However, many of us have gone overboard on bits of Disney of the ornament variety. So small and easy to pick up, such a variety and what great memories each evokes. What’s the harm?
Until…you realize that you have far too many Disney ornaments for just one tree. So your tree display grows and then, well, Disney keeps inventing new fun things to make ornaments OF. You can’t just ignore Brave, or Prep & Landing, or whatever else comes, can you?
There are so many wonderful ornaments in the world produced by the big guns in the decorative world, such as Enesco, Grolier, Hallmark and Disney itself. Smaller niches such as Anri and the now sadly defunct Walt Disney Classics Collection also contributed stylish quality ornaments, so how can one resist?
To make things worse, Disney has recently started producing new lines that are dangerous to those with an ornament weakness, such as Shoe ornaments and the tantalizing Ear Hat ornaments, which started simply enough with the Fab Five and then morphed into ride vehicles, steampunk styles and on and on.
So, if you are like me, you get a smaller tree just for a theme such as Tinker Bell, or a tiny tree for miniatures.
And you realize that, really, what is more fitting to bring on a mood of cheer and giving than Disney? What other brand brings happiness to so many and is so firmly rooted in good times and lasting memories? So I’ll feel good about my collection and tell myself that it’s not too much, but just enough. (Until the after Christmas sales, of course).
